Local Mortgage Store brings some U.S. Culture to the IFSC
If
you were walking around the IFSC recently you may have seen some US
culture – a "free shoe shine" compliments of The Mortgage
Store.
The
promotion ran over 6 days with the buffstop (shoe shine service) stationed
in various locations around the IFSC.
Anyone who was interested in taking out a mortgage gave their
business card to Bill (his real name) the buffer to get their free shoe
shine.
The
promotion co-incides with the official launch of a new Mortgage Store in
Mayor Street Lower in the IFSC. The outlet represents the 10th in the
highly successful Mortgage Store chain.
The 1st store opened in 1989 and has differentiated itself by
providing an alternative to the normal bank or building society approach
to mortgages. Today there are now 10 stores covering Blackrock, Bray,
Cork, Dame St, Dundrum, Grafton St., Swords, Waterford aswell as Arnotts
on Henry St.
Gordon
Birch, District Manager, The Mortgage Store outlines the appeal of the
IFSC Mortgage Store: "Our flexible working practices, such as early
breakfast or lunchtime meetings suit the lifestyles of our customers and
demonstrates our willingness to work around their needs."
In
addition, through our use of touch screen and web based services,
customers can literally go through the entire process without having to
take time out to attend meetings with Mortgage Consultants.
This has huge appeal to anyone with a busy schedule, something that
is especially relevant to people working in the IFSC", added Gordon.
The
IFSC Mortgage Store is open from 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
It’s located in New Century House, opposite Spar on Mayor Street
Lower.
George’s Dock to take Centre Stage
The
DDDA announced the commencement of works at George’s Dock in the
International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) to create a unique event
platform to accommodate live music, theatre and even an ice rink. The result will be a spectacular enhancement to the IFSC and
Docklands area.
The
works involve extensive upgrading of George’s Dock to include an
underwater stage, improved lighting, new water fountains, seating and
handrails to increase use and enjoyment of the amenity for residents and
visitors alike.
RETAINING
WALL
A
retaining wall is also being constructed between George’s Dock and the
Inner Dock to facilitate control of water levels and to allow for drainage
of each of the Docks separately.
This is an essential upgrade so that periodic maintenance work can
be carried out in both basins, when necessary.
The
upgrade of George’s Dock demonstrates the Authority’s continued
commitment to developing a world class physical environment in the Dublin
Docklands area.
