Little Treasures Community Crèche graduations

Monday 28th July last saw, pre-schoolers from the Little Treasures Community Crèche graduate in a very special ceremony at the North Wall Women’s Centre (NWWC), Lower Sheriff Street, North Wall, Dublin 1.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Royston Brady, presented the children with certificates to mark their graduation.

The NWWC was founded in 1985 by a group of local women who saw the very real need for a place where women could meet, share experiences and learn together.  Since then, women of all ages and backgrounds have used the centre for training, education, and advice or simply as a meeting point.

The Centre now employs seven full time staff and eight part time staff.  Along with the crèche facility, the Centre also offers employment, training and education opportunities for workers who are employed through the Community Employment Scheme, women on the Young Mothers’ Programme and participants on the Childcare Training Programme.  There is also a range of courses from gardening to cookery, pottery to computer training.

The crèche caters for children ranging in age from two months to five years. Its objective is to ensure that childcare is no longer a contributing factor to long term unemployment and poverty in the area.

The ethos and philosophy off ‘Little Treasure’s is very much that of a holistic approach to the child and the needs presented by that child. Each room within the crèche has been carefully designed to offer the child the optimum learning opportunity.

New Job Posted every 15 Seconds During Recent Job Creation Initiative

Monster.ie’s Jobs-4-All Day Announces a record High of Jobs posted to the site

Tanaiste, Mary Harney launched the job creation initiative "Monster Jobs-4-All Day" where she encouraged recruiters to advertise their job vacancies and job seekers to log on to find their dream job on Monster.ie.

With 2,220 new jobs posted on the website on the day – that’s one job every 15 seconds, the Tanaiste is confident that this initiative will help boost employment in Ireland.

"Monster is the global leader in online recruitment and has a great track record for bringing the best qualified candidates together with the most forward thinking employers. The Monster Jobs 4 All initiative promotes employment, opportunity and equality, all of which I feel happy to endorse." She said  Monster.ie also had a record breaking number of visitors to their site on the day. The figures show a 247% increase, (15, 550 visitors) on the daily number of visitors to the site and 400 new CVs were posted to the site.

Considering the current turbulent employment climate, the Tanaiste fully supported the employment drive, which was a resounding success with job seekers, employers and HR managers.

Alan Townsend, MD Monster.ie commented on the success of Jobs-4-All: "The Monster Jobs4All Day saw 363 companies use online recruitment to fill their current vacancies. A lot of these companies have never used online recruitment before and this initiative gave them the opportunity to try it out at the same time as filling their recruitment needs. Already companies are asking us to remove the job from the site as they have filled their vacancy after only 3 days. Many companies who had current vacancies but were not advertising them used this as the opportunity to promote their jobs. This is a fantastic opportunity for job seekers to find their dream job."
