The changing Europe |

I am delighted that the honour fell to Ireland, during our Presidency of the European Union, to oversee this pivotal event. Enlargement presents huge opportunities for the new members. However, we should not ignore the significant opportunities for Ireland too.
This enlargement copper-fastens Europe as an area united in peace and stability, democratically working in a rule based system for the greater prosperity and well being of all of its citizens. This is in everyone's interest.

Fashionable
Ferns

Ferns have devoted fans that collect them with love and ardour. They are the few. The many are those who think they are dull. If the latter, larger, group knew of ferns'
distinguished history as house plants and their potential if looked after with imagination, they might easily change their minds.
It was the Victorians who gave ferns their fashionable status amongst houseplants. |

Arrival into Charles De Gaul airport with an effortless transfer to the metro, having purchased four-day rambling tickets. This meant we travelled at whim to all parts of this great city, changing direction as the wind took us. |

The solid progress achieved by Skoda since the marque was reintroduced here a decade ago is set to continue with the planned late-Autumn arrival of their new Octavia.
Currently being presented to international media, the new Octavia is solidly aimed at the family buyer. In design terms, it has evolved from the current version Skoda having opted for subtle style changes whilst still retaining the overall appeal of its predecessor of which over 1 million models have been produced since its launch in 1998. |

Against the Markets . . .

Some businesses have gained greatly from clever use of IT and the Internet. Most could no longer function without these technologies.
However, research by Enterprise Ireland (http://www.enterprise-ireland.com/ebusiness/eBIT_ICTissues.htm) has revealed that many smaller Irish companies face business risks due to poor management of information technology. In larger companies, many knowledgeable commentators question the business benefits of much of the IT investment of recent years.
